About Lael Farm

Lael Farm, home of Turnabout Thoroughbreds, is nestled in the rolling hills of Chester County, Pennsylvania and features spacious paddocks, a superb modern barn and a large riding arena. With a team of knowledgeable, patient horse people we are able to help our retired racehorses transition successfully to new jobs. We are excited to have our racehorses back from their track careers sound enough to go on to a future in the show ring, hunt field or trail. We try to let the horse tell us which direction they want to take.

Each horse is given a period of adjustment when it arrives at the farm – a time to relax and leave the routines of the racing life behind. The horse is turned out in a large one to two acre paddock where he can look for starting gates and finish lines and eventually surrender to the grass and clover. Some of our horses need time to settle in while others easily adapt to the life they have always dreamed of having within their first week here. Each horse is different and at Lael Farm, we are able to tailor our program to the horse’s unique needs.
